The little streets of Buenos Aires have....
un je ne sais quoi
Returning to Buenos Aires is always
an encounter with my roots. This capital lies beside the manses waters of Rio de La Plata, which keeps the memories of
its history, since 1850 when it was founded, by a group of adventures commanded by the Basque Juan Garay After 400 years, is today one of the most important economic and cultural centers of America and the world.
At the Art craft fair in San Telmo, a similar market to the flea market of Paris, is what remains in the Modern Buenos Aires from the old colonial city. At this place, it is a tango couple surrounded by tourists who are delighted with the figures of the dancers.
From every alley of some popular district we can hear some tango's tunes with the eternal voice presence of the creole thrush Carlitos Gardel... still been famous... everyday sing better!

Among all the things that this city offers, we can name three visits that you can't miss:

Barrio de La Boca (District La Boca)

Walking toward the south dock and climbing up by the river's shore up to the Nicolas Avellaneda Bridge is like entering to the popular southern district.
Where you can feel the essence and the heart from Buenos Aires, the "porteños", which provided with Tango and lufardismo (a language also spoken of that place) the whole city.
To walk through the "Caminito" is like taking time to enjoy the ever lasting painting exhibitions, the Tango dancers and musicians, the mimics and caricaturists which makes a very pleasant walk for the tourists.
This famous place "La Boca" amazes us with the zinc houses painted in different colors from the remaining paint of the boats from the harbors.

Barrio de San Telmo. ( San Telmo District)

To visit during the weekend the Plaza Dorrego ( craft market) you may find an infinity of antiquities and objects that show the porteños culture (Buenos Aires culture). Nowadays this district is the only area of the city where you can find uniform colonial features, (narrow streets, wrought iron windows, cobblestone streets, big courtyards etc.) There can also be found places to take Tango classes or maybe a café, from where couples that with their sensual movements may be admired by the tourists.

View of the Av. 9 de Julio (the world's widest avenue) which ends at the Obelisk, symbol of the city, built in 1936 to commemorate the Fourth Centenary of the city)
Down town.

Begin the tour in Plaza de Mayo, it is an open and monumental place where most of its important historical events are concentrated, in the Cathedral, the Town hall La Casa Rosada, where in its balconies still resound the nostalgia and myth, Eva's Peron voice talking to the congregated masses. To admire the architecture from the beginning of this century walk on Avenida de Mayo, then arrive to the Plaza Congreso to go down again by the avenue Callao, which take us to Corriente, a cosmopolitan avenue where you can find coffee bars, libraries, nightclubs and shops and at the end of the avenue you will find the Obelisk, the symbol of the city.
