Nice
Pearl of the Mediterranean
Glamorous and scatterbrained city-femme,

sensually opens with all her curves

and turns over the dark blue Mediterranean Sea.

Strolling around the narrowalleys of her old city

center is breathing brackish air in the mystic halo

of the ancient city.

The Costa Azul is a luxurious spa, whose unquestionable center is Nice, a city located among the famous Cannes and Montecarlo. It is recommendable to take the tourist train tour in order to see the areais numerous attractions. The train covers the most important sites in the old as well as in the modern city. You get to see the gardens of the historic castle of Nice (where you can get an amazing view of the city), the flower market, the elegant zone with five-starhotels on the beach, and the glamorous restaurants with their exquisite dishes.

The richness of Nice`s past can also be savored through its architectonic richness (today the fifth biggest city of the Gaul country). Walking through its historical center, located between the coastline, the park Le Chateau, and the boulevard Jean Jaures, is like standing face to face with the city`s medieval past, especially when seeing the famous pointed arches. The ocher gable roofs, the diversity of architectural styles: gothic, baroque, and renaissance, the gastronomical traditions: small cafÈs and restaurants, everything comes together to create a never-felt-before magical atmosphere.

The well-known Le Cours Saleya, near the Opera House with its small cafes and restaurants, is an antiquities market on Mondays and a fruit and flowers market every other day. The transformation resembles a changing theater scene where all the Mediterranean is kindness is wonderfully displayed. Between Le Cours Saleya and the coastline is Les Pochettes decorated with beautiful 19th century buildings, many of which have been made into art galleries.

In Nice there are three plazas every visitor must visit. Not far from Plaza Saint Augustan stands one of the oldest churches of the city, the church of Saint Martin and Saint Augustan, where a beautiful 15th century Representation of The Piety can be admired. Saint Francisco Plaza dates back to the 16th century. It holds a riotous spectacle of fish and seafood and the admirable architecture of the old Hotel de Ville, today an Employment Bureau.

The city´s beaches, the most beautiful ones in Europe;

refined boutiques, the most famous ones in the world; and

enviable temperature that fluctuate between 11 (winter)

and 24 (summer) degrees Celsius, all have made Nice

become an ideal relaxation destiny, where great financial,

political, film, and European noble figures converge.

Of course the trip around the historical center does not end when you reach the church of Saint Jacob Mayor, an incredible example of the baroque 17th century architecture constructed by ìCompany of Jesusî. Plaza Massena, near the historical center ñ an excellent reunion place -, is the heart of the city. From it you can get a fine perspective of the hills surrounding the city.

One of the most romantic walks a couple can enjoy in Nice is along the coastline. That is where you´ll find the famous boulevard La Promenade des Anglais (The promenade of the English) constructed by order of Lewis Way in 1820. The boulevard enjoys one of the best views of the Mediterranean and a cheerful ridge of flowers and palm trees.

Nice has important museums among which stand out the Museum of Fine Arts), Matisse Museum, Terra Amata Museum, National Biblical Message Marc Chagall Museum, Dufy Museum, and the Franciscan Museum, among others.

The grand stage Nice is will make you feel you are in an unforgettable, heavenly paradise.

Niza´s narrow alleys hold the spell of mystery in their

sinuosity: you can never tell what you will find at the

end of a turn, it may just be an amazing plaza charged

with history.
