Lying in a desertlike zone of the Pampa, the town of Chacharramendi (a Basque name meaning low mountain) features this tourist attraction -the "Pulpería" (house of commerce or business). Its history goes back to the beginning of the 20th century and it provided clients with all sorts of merchandise, from an automobile to medicine. This was also the Town Hall where all the population came to register. This business was closed for years until the Pampean Government backed its restoration in 1992 and it became a spot to be visited by those lovers of the old ways of life. |
