Mud figure, Jalisco, (400 a 500 d.de C.).

Located in Tepoztlan, Morelos and opened in 1965 with the collection from the poet from Tabaso, Carlos Pellicer Camara, this museum exhibits pieces of Mesoamerican culture (Maya, Olmec, Zapotec, Teotihuacan, Totonaca, etc.) found by the Spanish conquerors at the beginning of the 16th century. Noteworthy in this colection are the Maya containers from Palenque, teotihuacan seals in clay, atropomorphid and zoomorphid figures from Tajín, clay flutes and stone sculptures from western Mexico. The museum is located in a solid stone buiilding which was the grain loft of the Dominican convent of Tepoztlán (16th century).
