Geode stones in capricious shapes because of the time erosion

With its jagged and rocky peaks which range in hues of red to yellow, this canyon in the "Sierra del Sarnoso" in the State of Durango, guards treasures which have been in this continent since time immemorial. An arid zone, hot and desert like it seems to attract excursionists and investigators only. There are also marble quarries in this region as well as rupestrian paintings and petroglyphs from the irritilas tribes ("laguneros"). It was here that sea fossils and prehistoric animals from 12,000 years ago were found. The rocks piled one atop the other, weighing several tons and in the shape of rhomboids, is a unique spectacle when you appreciate the way they uphold one another in an area of 10 sq cms. These belong to the Pleistocene Age.
