"El Salto"

Surrounded by pasture of green and earthly tones, is the village Ixtapan del Oro located in the northeastern side of the State of Mexico, 1800 meters above sea level.
Its main attractions are a small limestone church and a garden surrounding the main plaza. The latter is decorated by two objects which contrast in their function, esthetics, and time: a small kiosk with outstanding wooden columns which give the place a particular trend, and a prehispanic sculpture found nearby "El Pedregal"resembling the shapes on the Quetzalcoatl pyramid in Teotihuacan.
The rest tells of a small plaza garden responding to a french style, where the intense green of the plants is primped with the fuchsia, carmine red, blue, and pinkish-purple of the well-tended flowers, contrasting with the grayish-white of the plazaís paths. However, Ixtapan del Oro has another element on its side, something which makes the place highly attractive. Only 2 kilometers to the northeastern side of the village, is the ecological park ìEl Saltoî, named after a nice waterfall which never fails to freshen up visitors and habitants before pouring into the Ixtapan river.
Ixtapan, place above salt, gold and beauty, emerging silent and ancestral in the heart of the pasture, always smiling for all those who wish to admire it.
