Mexico City has a great tradition in flower markets. A sample of this is the Palace of Flowers in the historical center with 77 stalls and the Jamaica Market with 350 stalls, where one may acquire a great variety of flowers (which in their majority are cultivated in the country). Also there is a trade of dried flowers and other ornamental accessories for flower arrangements. In the commercial zone of Polanco are located prestigious flower shops where one can find flower arrangements for export and with artificial flowers made out of silk.
