Located in the Humboldt House in Taxco, this construction dating from the 18th century has four levels and a barroque facade with Mudejar influence. The name is due to the fact that Alexander Von Humboldt stayed there in 1803. It has 12 halls displaying collections of sacred ornaments, furniture, paintings, alterpieces, iron fittings and other objects which illustrate life during the viceregal period. In its type it is one of the most important in Latinamerica. One of the most attractive halls is that of the tumulus, decorated in the 18th century style.These were canvases painted in honor of some important person after his death and were used during exequies.
