Mexican music is inseparable from dance, were it traditional indian dances or the movements of the "jarabe" (typical Mexican dance) or the "son" (typical Mexican musical rhythm) in its multiple sub-types. Mexican popular music and dance are a true expression of the indian and mestizo people, whereby their artistic spirit multiplies and amalgamates, giving way to various types of music, special instruments and various dancesin each region. It is the mestizo music which best represents the Mexican idiosincracy, fit for dance and song.
