Church of the "Inmaculado Corazón de María"
Engineer Ismael Rego. 1887-1902.

Most of them constructed in an eclectic style , the churches belonging to the beginning of the century are a mute testimony of the enormous growth of the City of Mexico. The period known as Porfirian spanned over 30 years (1976-1911). The colonies chosen to be the sites of these churches were the Roma, Cuauhtemoc, Juarez amongst others where the classes benefited by the economic system imposed by General Porfirio Diaz lived. The designated architects worked with "neo" styles such as the Neo-gothic, Neo-byzantine and Neo-roman which in truth were a comeback of ancient styles but using modern construction methods such as reinforced concrete and cast iron.
