This became a tradition in 1960 and in its type, it is the longest boatrace in the world covering a stretch of 148 kms, from the town of Rodeo up to the Raymundo National Parkk in Durango during 3 adventurous days. Today it has become of international importance and both the competitors as well as the spectators of the neighboring towns, have the opportunity during the month of July to enjoy the wonderful scenery of that region. There are 5 competing categories : general, beginners, slalom, veterans and K-2. The trip goes over waterfalls, rapids and dams, making this event a challenge for the boldest.
