This old Real de Minas (mine site) of the San Pedro Hill, is located some 20 kms to the east of the City of San Luis Potosí. The small village, barely thirty families , a semi-desert with a growth of cacti, nopales and brake, recalls past images of great wealth and bonanza. For a time this mine site produced much gold and silver, but this did not last. By 1940 silver was practically depleted and thus the city abandoned.
